6.5 million people forcibly displaced in 2017 because of persecution. 10 million have no nationality and rights. $1.26 trillion per year is the cost of corruption, bribery and theft in for developing countries. 49 countries lack laws protecting women from domestic violence. One billion people are not registered in the civil registry. Below mentioned are the objectives to be achieved under SDG16:

1. Significantly reduce all forms of violence and related death rates
2. End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against children
3. Ensure equal access to justice for all
4. Reduce illicit financial and arms flow, and combat all forms of organized crime
5. Substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all their forms
6. Develop effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels
7. Ensure inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels
8. Strengthen the participation of developing countries in the institutions of global governance
9. Provide legal identity for all, including birth registration
10. Ensure public access to information and protect fundamental freedoms
11. Strengthen relevant national institutions, in particular in developing countries, to prevent violence and combat terrorism and crime
12. Promote non-discriminatory and policies for sustainable development
