1.6 billion people depend on forests for their livelihood out of which 80% of animal species live in forests. 2.6 billion people depend directly on agriculture for a living. 33% can be the contribution of nature-based solutions to CO2 reduction. $125 trillion is the value of the ecosystems to human livelihoods and wellbeing. 

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. SDG 15, "Life on Land," aims to protect, restore, and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, forests, mountains, and drylands.

1. Conservation, restoration and sustainable use of terrestrial and inland freshwater ecosystems (forest, wetlands, mountains and drylands)
2. Sustainable management o forests, halt deforestation, restore degraded forests
3. Combat desertification, restore degraded land and soil
4. Conservation of mountain ecosystems, including their biodiversity
5. Reduce the degradation of natural habitats, in loss of biodiversity, and prevent the extinction of threatened species
6. Fair and equitable sharing of the benefits from the use of genetic resources
7. End poaching and trafficking of protected species of flora and fauna
8. Reduce the impact of invasive alien species on land and water ecosystems, and accounts
9. Integrate ecosystem and biodiversity into natural, local planning, and accounts
10. Mobilize financial resources to prevent biodiversity and ecosystems
11. Mobilize significant resources to finance sustainable forest management, especially to developing countries
